Our sleep coaches are trained to use the Mommywise Method, which skips a one-size-fits-all method in favor of an individual approach. Sleep training should do more than look good on paper: it should make sense for YOUR baby and YOUR family!
We do this through 3 Steps:
Detailed Assessment + Getting to Know You
Before we come to your home, we complete a sleep assessment call and then a detailed questionnaire that helps give us the full picture of your sleep situation. When we arrive, we spend more time getting to know your baby and family in person, learning the layout of your home, and identifying anything that might be working against your goal of a great night's sleep for all.
In-Home Sleep Training + Customized Action Plan
Our In-Home Sleep Training programs are either 48 or 72 hours, depending on your family's specific goals, needs, and challenges. During this intensive time together, we laser-focus on teaching your baby how to sleep independently, all while keeping their age, stage, and needs in mind. We will create a plan together, make any necessary changes, and support you so that you can feel confident moving forward. We are there for emotional support and to answer any questions you have during the process, and when we leave you will have a customized action plan that anyone caring for your baby can follow.
Implementation + Extended Support
Sleep training extends beyond teaching your baby how to fall asleep and stay asleep on their own. It takes time to settle in to new habits and routines, which is why we include a series of scheduled coaching calls plus phone and e-mail support in the 4 weeks after your training program. By the time we are finished, you will feel rested and prepared to overcome any regressions or setbacks that may arise.
At every In-Home Sleep Training, we cover these 5 Key Elements:
1. Manage Your Energy
Many parents feel anxious, stressed, frustrated, or just plain depleted when it comes to bedtime. If you're not careful, it's easy to pass that energy to your baby. We help you manage your energy so that you can put your baby down in a calm, relaxed way.
2. Change Sleep Routines
It all starts with bedtime. Something isn't quite working, which is why we're here. Through observation and looking at your current routines, we help change your baby's associations and create new routines so that they can fall asleep and stay asleep without your "help."
3. Minimize Tears
We help sleep train your baby in a way that is the fastest, easiest, and least confusing for your baby. While we can't promise that your baby won't cry, we work together to help create a plan that minimizes the tears and allows for long-term success.
4. Understand "Reacting vs. Responding."
Do you find yourself running to your baby's every nighttime cry out of habit? Maybe she's hungry, he's learning to roll over, she's about to get a new tooth, or he's got a wet diaper...but how do you KNOW? Once we teach your baby to sleep through the night, you will also know how to respond to your baby's cries and feel confident that you're meeting their needs.
5. Overcome setbacks.
Setbacks happen. Regressions, growth spurts, teething, sickness, busy seasons, and exciting family vacations happen. A few rough nights after your baby's been sleeping all night for a while can be confusing, discouraging, and frustrating. We help you navigate these setbacks so you can roll with them and get back to your normal routine ASAP.
